ORANGE, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's tennis lost a close dual 5-4 to the Chapman Panthers on Tuesday afternoon.
With the loss, the Regals drop to 2-3 in conference and 9-6 overall.
The Regals went up 3-0 after doubles play. Carmen Bufkin and Mina Ahmadi won 8-7 (7-4) at the No. 1, Maddy Ford and Kylee Limpias were victorious 8-7 (9-7) at the No. 2, and Luisa Garcia and Kayla Kling won 8-3 at the No. 3.
The Regals won one singles match as Limpias was victorious at the No. 4. She took the match 6-1, 6-4. The Regals could not hang on as the Panthers took the reaming singles matches and the match. Bufkin fell 4-6, 7-5, 3-6 at the No. 1, Garcia lost 4-6, 6-4, 2-6 at the No. 2, Ford fell 2-6, 1-6 at the No. 3, Kling lost 4-6, 0-6 and Anya Rajan lost 6-3, 5-7, 1-6 at the No. 6.
The Regals continue the season with Caltech. They return home and host the Beavers on Saturday at 2 for Senior Day.
