THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Sophie Raquel and the defense shut down the Occidental Tigers as Cal Lutheran women's water polo won 7-4 on Saturday afternoon. 

The Regals won their second straight SCIAC game as they improved to 3-4 in conference play. It is the lowest amount of goals the Regals have allowed this year. 

The Tigers took 26 shots, converting on just four, as Raquel made a season-high 12 saves. The Regals also took 25 shots, scoring seven, with five assists on the goals. Lauren Lohmeier had three goals and four more Regals had one. Bethany Metcalfe dished out three assists and Miranda Miller had two more. Katie Knight and Jacqueline Brandon put the offense in great positions with three and two drawn exclusions, respectively. 

The Regals opened the scoring, shutting out the Tigers 2-0 in the first quarter as Megan Findlay and Leila Egusa scored. The Regals continued the scoring in the second and had a 5-1 lead at the half. The Tigers took the third quarter, scoring three goals to two, and were up 7-4 with eight minutes left. The defenses took control in the fourth, allowing no goals, as the Regals took the win. 

The Regals look to make it three straight wins on Wednesday. They are at Redlands at 7 pm.
