MOORPARK, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's and men's golf hosted their invitationals on Monday and Tuesday at Moorpark Country Club.
The Regals placed third and the Kingsmen were fifth. The Regals were 67-over-par and shot a 326 in the first round and improved with a 317 in round two for 643 strokes. The Kingsmen shot 31-over-par and had 309 in the first while firing a 298 in the second to finish at 607 strokes.
The Kingsmen placed two in the top 10 while the Regals had one. JP Guimaraes Jr. finished third in the CLU Kingsmen Invitational with 1-under-par. He fired an Even 72 over the first 18 holes and carded a 71 in the second for 143 strokes. Adam Cartozian was next and tied for sixth at 3-over-par. He shot a 72 and a 75 for 127 strokes. Anna Poulin led the women in the CLU Regals Invitational and tied for ninth at 9-over-par. She shot a 78 and 75 for a total of 153 strokes.
The Kingsmen had three more finish in the top 20 and the Regals had one more. Ty Kuroda tied for 11th at 5-over-par with 73-76-149. Brooke Alderson tied for 16th at 14-over-par as she totaled 81-77-158. Jacob Fox and Tanner Stewart tied for 17th at 7-over-par. Fox shot 74-77-151 while Stewart was 78-73-151.
Also competing for Cal Lutheran was Nick Huffman as he tied for 26th (+9, 77-76-153), Ashley Zook in a tie for 28th(+20, 84-80-164), Luke Rimkunas in a tie for 29th (+10, 78-76-154), Blake Fitzhugh in 37th (+12, 77-79-156), Maya dela Rama in a tie for 39th (+27, 83-88-171), Kaylie Hesse tied for 43rd (+28, 87-85-172), Aidan Allen tied for 48th (+15, 75-84-159), Jot Singh tied for 48th (+15, 82-77-159), Victoria Ruiz tied for 52nd (+33, 89-88-177), Hudson Solters tied for 54th (+16, 87-73-160), and Harlee Samp was 56th (+41, 88-97-185).
Up next for the Regals is the UC Santa Cruz Invitational on March 30-31. The Kingsmen are at SCIAC #2 on April 6-7.
