Going into the second half, the Kingsmen led 36-29, but a 9-0 Bulldog run seven minutes into the half got Redlands (12-8, 4-7 SCIAC) the lead. The two teams battled for separation as the game clock slowly ticked away. The Kingsmen hit a couple of big shots late, including an and-one from Davis and a corner three by Brock Susko.
With 1:13 remaining, Ze'ev Remer fed a cutting Griffitts who punched home an emphatic dunk in traffic that sent Gilbert Arena into eruption. The Kingsmen led by nine points, 72-63, but the Bulldogs wouldn't go away.

With 0:11 remaining, the Bulldogs wildly forced a turnover on the Kingsmen inbound and had a chance to tie or take the lead with the last shot, but missed a deep three-pointer that would have put them on top.
