GRANTHAM, Pa. — Jordan Cooper tallied 14 kills while hitting with a .778 percentage and No. 4 Cal Lutheran men's volleyball swept No. 16 Messiah 25-23, 25-19, 25-14 on Thursday night.
The Kingsmen improved to 9-2 and recorded their third sweep and second of a ranked opponent. They are now 8-1 against ranked opponents.
Cooper led the way offensively and also had a season-high eight aces. He was followed by
Ben Weber with nine kills and
Noah Rigo with four. The duo also hit very efficiently and had a percentage of .471 and .429, respectively.
Taylor Marks kept the offense rolling and had 27 assists.
Logan Marks was in the libero position and had five digs while
Borys Horiuk had four total blocks.
The Kingsmen got better as the much went on and recorded a .333 hitting percentage while holding Messiah to .167. The Kingsmen also had nine aces compared to just two for their opponent.
The Kingsmen look to start another winning streak and are back in action on Friday. They take on Widener at 4:30 p.m. PT.
