THOUSAND OAKS, CA - Cal Lutheran men's soccer faced a demoralizing loss to close out the regular season against the Caltech Beavers 5-0 on Saturday night.
Saturday night's loss was Cal Lu's first against Caltech since 2011, having previously gone 20-0-1 in that span, and it marked only their third loss against Tech ever.
The Beavers pounced early, netting four goals in the first 40 minutes, but were held scoreless until the 89th minute.
Cal Lutheran out-shot CalTech 17-16 with only two fewer shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper
Gen Katashiba recorded four saves in his last regular season game with the team.
Junior
Danny Rodriguez, senior
JP Melgoza, junior
Max Scott, and sophomore Maximo Schelloto all recorded shots on goal for the Kingsmen.
Cal Lutheran finished the 2024 regular season with a record of 6-8-5, going 4-5-3 in SCIAC play.
The Kingsmen will look to put this behind them quickly as they prepare for the SCIAC Tournament Quarterfinal at home against Chapman, against whom they are unbeaten this year, on Tuesday, November 5.
