THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Cal Lutheran women's soccer cap off their regular season with a commanding 4-1 victory over the Redlands Bulldogs on Wednesday night.
The Regals bounced back after a recent 2-2 skid, which snapped their regular season winning streak dating back almost two years.
It was a mostly quiet half for both sides, remaining scoreless until senior
Elisa Shott netted her first goal of the season in the 36th minute. Senior Jazy Campbell had the assist.
After a neutralizer by Redlands in the second half and the 90th minute approaching, a tie seemed imminent, until the Regals netted three goals in nine minutes.
Senior
Avery West put the Regals in front with a goal in the 79th minute. Just a minute and a half later, junior
Ashley Escamilla gave Cal Lutheran some insurance with a goal of her own, assisted by Shott. And in the 88th minute, senior
Adriana Maroney joined the fun with a goal of her own.
The Regals move to 12-2-4 overall and 10-2-0 in conference play and with that, cap off yet another season atop the SCIAC. The SCIAC Tournament begins next week.
