THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran University Director of Sports Information Kieran Cantwell has been accepted into the Athletic Communicators Emerging Elite Program which includes all expense paid travel to the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis in December and registration to the College Sports Communicators Convention in June.

"We were fortunate to hire Kieran. He has a unique skill set that will be instrumental in CLU moving forward with enhanced use of streaming and video on our website and social media," said Director of Athletics Dr. Howard Davis. "In his short time, Kieran has proven himself a valuable asset to our administrative team, coaches and student athletes."

The Athletic Communicators Emerging Elite Program is a partnership of the Division III Sports Information Directors of America (D3SIDA) and College Sports Communicators. The program aims to provide professional development and networking opportunities for athletic communicators. The topics include overseeing a staff, navigating various job responsibilities, and leadership training.

"I'm excited to meet others in my position from around the country and learn from them," said Cantwell. "What I take away from this program will be monumental in achieving my lofty goals at Cal Lutheran."

Cantwell is a graduate of University of Notre Dame in South Bend with a degree in Film, Television and Theater. He was previously employed at the long-time television program, Access Hollywood.
