Box Score PASADENA, Calif, – Anna Evenson (3), Nevaeh Rascon (4), and Olivia Suarez (6) all scored goals as Cal Lutheran women's soccer buried Caltech 3-0 to get back in the win column on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Regals (10-1-4, 8-1-0 SCIAC) remain in sole possession of first place in the SCIAC. Today, they controlled every moment of the match against the Beavers (3-9-1, 2-7-0 SCIAC). In the first half, they outshot the Beavers by a whopping 21-1 margin. By the end of the match, the Regals totaled 36 shots, a team-high on the season.
Evenson got the party started in the 8th minute, putting the Regals up 1-0 with Elisa Shott recording the assist.
More than 60 minutes of match-time passed before the next score. Rascon gave the Regals an insurance goal in the 69th minute to make it 2-0. Avery West had the assist.
Suarez put the icing on the cake with her team-leading, and second-most in the SCIAC, sixth goal of the season in the 80th minute. First-year Jessica Sprouse recorded her first collegiate points with the assist.
The Regals' defense stifled any attack the Beavers threatened, holding them to just four shots in the match. Kelsey Slaugh was in goal and recorded one save on the one Beaver shot that got through the defense.
Next, the Regals have the opportunity to avenge their loss, as they ride into enemy territory to take on Pomona Pitzer. They face the Sagehens on the road on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 4 p.m.
