Peery's Goal Versus Whittier Keeps No. 14 Regals Undefeated

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Macey Peery scored her first goal of the 2024 season, leading the Regals to a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Whittier College. 

This win improved the Regals' record to 8-0-4 (6-0 SCIAC), while Whittier's record fell to 6-3-2 (4-2-1 SCIAC). Peery's decisive goal came in the 60th minute, with an assist from teammate Anna Evenson.

Kira Kasarda was in goal for the Regals, making four saves against the Poets in a shutout. Notably, she prevented a potential goal in the 89th minute, right before the end of regulation. On defense, the Regals have allowed only six goals this season. 

Offensively, the team has showcased its depth, scoring 19 goals, contributed by 13 different players, reflecting its balanced attacking strategy.

The Regals have demonstrated remarkable consistency, remaining undefeated for 364 days. Their performance so far this season showcases their strength in the SCIAC.

In addition to their on-field success, the Regals have been recognized in the national rankings, climbing to No. 14 in the Division III United Soccer Coaches Poll, as announced on Tuesday afternoon. 

As they look to continue their impressive streak, the Regals will face the University of Redlands in another conference match on Saturday, October 12th at 11:00 AM.
