THOUSAND OAKS, Calif — Sadie Peete and
Tess Holbert recorded a double-double,
Kira Mortensen added seven block assists, and Cal Lutheran women's volleyball swept Chapman on Saturday night. Scores of the match were 25-22, 29-27, 25-19.
Before the match, Cal Lutheran paid tribute to an alumna, Cori Hayes, and her memory.

Kellee Roesel. "What a beautiful tribute to our angel sister Cori Hayes whom we played in honor of tonight!"
The Regals won their second straight conference game and improved to 3-2 in the SCIAC and 5-10 overall.
Mortensen led the Regals with 12 kills, added the block assists, and had two aces. Peete was next with 10 kills and had a team-high 17 digs. Holbert kept the offense rolling with 32 assists. She showed off an all-around game with 13 digs, six kills, and five block assists.
The defense impressed with five Regals in double-digits for digs.
Caitlin Murphy added 13 and
Amy Buffini and
Tarin Rueckert had 10 each.
With the Regals down 19-16 in the first set, they scored five straight points to take the lead. Peete served two aces and added a kill while
Brooklyne Miko had a kill. They used that momentum to take the first set.
The Regals pulled off another comeback in the second set. Down 18-13, they clawed back in the game and tied it at 24. With the score tied at 27, Reuckert recorded a kill, and Holbert and Mortensen combined for a block.
In the third set, the Regals had their sights set on a sweep. With the score tied at 10, the Regals scored six straight and took a commanding lead. Murphy served an ace, Holbert recorded a kill and then combined for Mortensen for a block. It was the breathing room the Regals needed as they swept the Panthers.
The Regals look to make it three straight conference wins on Tuesday. They host Occidental at 7 p.m.
