LA VERNE, Calif. — No. 18 Cal Lutheran women's soccer scored in the first five minutes for the second straight game and won their sixth straight game as they defeated La Verne 1-0 on Saturday night.
The Regals' offense started early as
Caitlyn Winter scored just 4:54 into the game. She was assisted by
Ashley Escamilla as the team improved to 6-0-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Cal Lutheran continued their hot start as they peppered the goal. The Regals totaled 15 shots with eight on goal.
Anna Evenson led the offense with four, Winter had two and
Avery West and Escamilla both had one.
Logan Duford was in goal and made one save. She did not have much work as
Lily Hatanaka,
Avery West,
Ally Fisicaro,
Savana Durr,
Madie Fahey, and
Brynn McMahon allowed just four shots.
The Regals look to make it seven straight wins, and three in conference, as they travel to Chapman for their next contest. The Regals and Panthers play on Wednesday at 4 p,m.
