THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Six Regals broke double-figure scoring as Cal Lutheran women's basketball exploded for a 104-70 win over Bethesda University on Thursday night.
Alline Ballard led the team in scoring with 17 points and added 12 rebounds for a double-double. Karina McMillan was next with 12 points, and Sara Mills, Madison Holden, Kaiya Mack, and Amaya Charles all had 11.
The Flames jumped out to a 10-5 lead early in the first quarter, but the Regals went on a 16-2 run to close out the first quarter and wouldn't trail for the rest of the game.
Stellar three-point shooting and rebounding was the story of the game for the Regals. After the first quarter, the Regals shot 46.42% (13-28) from beyond the arc and outrebounded the Flames 72-44. Aliya DiMuro and Grace Godines were the biggest contributors on the glass with DiMuro grabbing 16 rebounds and Godines having 11.
The Regals stayed hot, claiming their fifth victory in a row since starting the season 0-3. The team will have almost two weeks before looking to continue their win streak against Division I opponent UC Riverside. The Regals go on the road to take on the Highlanders on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 6 p.m.
