Kingsmen Roll to 86-49 Win Over Kalamazoo

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The Kingsmen were firing on all cylinders as Cal Lutheran men's basketball cruised to an 86-49 victory against Kalamazoo College on Tuesday afternoon.

Ze'ev Remer led the team in scoring with 13 points, while Tommy Griffitts and Devon Lewis both added 10 points. Lojong Andarea Ladu also checked into his first game since Dec. 28, 2022, after recovering from an ACL tear and recorded five points and two rebounds in five minutes on the court.

The Hornets' 49 points are the lowest point total from a Kingsmen opponent this season, and the first time since the 2019-20 season that the Kingsmen have held an opponent to under 50 points.

The Kingsmen jumped out to a comfortable lead midway through the first half after a 15-0 run and never faltered the rest of the way. After struggling from three-point range yesterday against Illinois Wesleyan, the Kingsmen turned it around early by going 52.63% (10-19) on threes in the first half. They also forced 13 Hornet turnovers while only turning the ball over once on their end. Lewis and Griffitts recorded all 10 of their points in the first half.

By the time the final buzzer sounded, the Kingsmen led big. They shot 50 percent (29-58) from the field, and held the Hornets to 34.7 (17-49), and outrebounded the Hornets 39-27.

The Kingsmen have now won back-to-back games heading into their extended break. They have eight days before taking on the undefeated and No. 5 ranked Tufts University (10-0) at home on Thursday, Dec. 28 at 2 p.m.
