Game Recap: Men's Water Polo |

No. 7 Kingsmen Head to No. 1 CMS

CLAREMONT, Calif. — No. 7 Cal Lutheran men's water polo had a tough task as they traveled to No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Wednesday night. The Stags had the upper hand and won the game.

"The team got off to a slow start in the first half tonight," head coach John Jacobson said. "We rallied in the second half and put together some great water polo down the stretch. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and couldn't quite catch back up in the second half."

Lincoln Hall and Cormac Flanders both scored two goals to lead the offense. Five more Kingsmen scored a goal and Levi Cook kept the ball moving with two assists.

Bo DuBois was in the cage and had six saves. Six Kingsmen recorded a save as the team looked for a second-half comeback.

The Kingsmen scored the first goal of the game, on their first possession, just 21 seconds into the game. The Stags controlled the rest of the half and scored 11 unanswered.

The Kingsmen fought back in the second half and scored the first and only, three goals of the quarter and cut the deficit to 13-4 at the end of three. The teams exchanged goals in the fourth quarter as the Stags held on to win.

The Kingsmen (7-16, 4-6 SCIAC) continue the season with two games at home. They host La Verne on November 8th at 4 p.m.
