THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. —
Kira Mortensen recorded 11 kills and
Sadie Peete had 10 more to lead Cal Lutheran women's volleyball to a sweep of Redlands on Saturday night. Scores of the match were 25-19, 25-18, and 25-20.
Mortensen had a hitting percentage of .450 and added four total blocks and two aces. Peete added 11 digs for her 10th double-double of the year.
Alex Hayes was next with nine kills and
Tarin Rueckert added five.
Tess Holbert was all over the court with 24 assists, five digs, four block assists, and two kills.
Amy Buffini led the offense with 14 digs.
Redlands jumped out to a 10-2 lead in the first set. The Regals responded and eventually tied up the set at 13. They did so during a nine-point run and then took the lead 15-13. They kept the points coming and took the first set. The Regals carried that momentum the rest of the match and picked up their sixth sweep of the year.
The Regals have one more game during their regular season. They host La Verne for Senior Day on Friday at 7 p.m.
