RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran men's and women's cross country teams competed at the SCIAC Championship on Saturday at the Riverside Cross Country Course. Both teams finished eighth as the Kingsmen totaled 239 points while the Regals had 247.
"The Kingsmen and Regals raced tough today in a challenging course," head coach
Brett Halvaks said. "We will take what we learned and use it when we return to the same course in two weeks for NCAA Regionals/"
Eric Talbert was the top finisher for the Kingsmen. He scored 35th as he crossed the finish line at 26:57.3.
Joseph Roberts was next and was 47th with 27:46.1.
The scoring continued with
Sebastian Sawyer in 50th with 28:23.1,
George Gaitanis with 29:44.1,
Max Segeberg in 54th with 31:08.6,
Joe Lopez Vasquez in 55th in 34:38.5, and
Ian Skrinde in 56th with 37:43.7.
Brooke Hougo led the Regals and scored 43rd with 26:00.1.
Samira Negrete was behind her and 45th with 26:29.0.
More scoring for the Regals came from
Tianna Karr in 52nd with 31:03.2,
Dinkenesh Coltvet in 53rd with 31:50.5,
Isabela Garcia-Work in 54th with 31:53.4, and
Kendall Fleming in 55th with 33:46.6.
The teams continue the season with the NCAA West Regionals. They travel to Riverside, Calif., on November 11th.
