THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran men's basketball team had a tough outing against the No. 4 team in the country as the Whitman Blues walked out of Gilbert Arena with a 104-56 win on Saturday night.

The game wrapped up the Cal Lutheran Holiday Classic for the Kingsmen. With the loss, CLU is 2-7 on the season. Whitman improved to 10-1 on the year.

The difference in the game was turnovers. Whitman forced Cal Lutheran into a season-high 32 turnovers. The Blues on the other hand, committed only seven. Whitman scored 36 points off the Kingsmen turnovers.

Cal Lutheran's Austin Cole tied the game-high and put up 17 points. He was 5-11 from the field, 3-6 from three-point range and 4-6 from the free throw line. He had a team-high seven rebounds and add three assists.

Michael Wadsworth was next with eight points and Tyler Brabant, Brandon Danziger and Cole Thomas all chipped in with six. Charlie Lee came off the bench and had a team-high four assists. 

Brooks Mallory, Seth Henry and Lamin Williams all scored their first points for the Violet and Gold. Mallory made both of his shots for a total of four points while Henry and Williams made both of their free throws for two points each. 

Whitman opened the game with a full-court press and forced Cal Lutheran turnovers. After the first 10 minutes, the Blues had an early 23-4 lead. Whitman didn't let up and had a 45-18 lead at the half. The Blues kept the pressure on in the second half and opened up their lead even more. The No. 4 team showed why they are ranked so high and left Gilbert Arena with a 104-56 win. 

Cal Lutheran continues the season with conference play. The Kingsmen welcome the Caltech Beavers to Gilbert Arena on Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
