REDLANDS, Calif. - The Cal Lutheran women's soccer team fell behind early but quickly bounced back to defeat Redlands 3-1 in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) matchup on Saturday night.
Offensive Highlights: Alex Albaeck scored her first career goal for the Regals in the 35th minute on a strike into the upper left corner, and added another to her tally in the 67th minute off of the assist from Kali Youngdahl. Ryley Settles also found the back of the net for CLU, marking her sixth goal on the season. The Violet and Gold concluded the match with 14 shots total, seven of them on target. Shots on goal came from Izzy Chelini, Julia Kearns, Nikole Prelooker, Albaeck and Settles.
Defensive Highlights: Coral Hasley started in goal for the Regals and tallied three saves on the night. Stacy Choate-Cilleti also saw time between the posts and recorded a save for CLU in the 74th minute to help preserve the Regal lead.
The Opponent: The Bulldogs scored early in the first half on a header from Hanya Loskutoff, assisted by Lauren Bay, but were kept silent for the remainder of the match. Redlands finished the match with five shots on target, three of them coming in the first half. Hannah Menk recorded four saves, bringing her season total up to 75.
Cal Lutheran (10-1-2, 5-1-2 SCIAC) will return to Rolland Stadium to take on Illinois Tech in a non-conference matchup on Monday, Oct. 10 at 12:30 p.m.
