PASADENA, Calif. - Announced last night by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), Jeremy Sulker-Hall was selected as the SCIAC Co-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 18-24.
Jeremy Sulker-Hall averaged 28.5 points on 59 percent shooting (24-for-51) to help the Kingsmen to a 1-1 showing last week during conference play. The Van Nuys, Calif. native set a new career-high with 27 points in a 67-63 win against Occidental on Jan. 18 only to break the mark with a 30-point performance against Chapman on Saturday, Jan. 23. Sulker-Hall finished 14-for-23 against the Panthers and knocked down his first career three-pointer in the game. For good measure, he also totaled 13 rebounds (6.5 per game), two assists and two steals for the Violet and Gold.
The senior (graduate student) forward shared the honor with Chapman swimmer Connor Broughton. Sulker-Hall became the first CLU award recipient in the 2016 calendar year.
A pair of Kingsmen has been honored in 2015-16 with soccer player Brandon Kearney (Sept. 21-27, 2015) and football running back Ben Chavez II (Sept. 14-20, 2015) earning recognition in the fall. Additionally, for the Regals, Raquel Weckhurst was the first female student-athlete from Cal Lutheran to be honored this season (Oct. 5-11, 2015) and the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Champions were honored on Nov. 16-22, 2015.
Cal Lutheran (31-5) in 2015 was the third team in program history to reach the national championship match and also became just the third group to surpass 30 wins in a season.
