THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Cal Lutheran men's basketball hosted Chapman for a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) contest at the Gilbert Arena tonight with the Panthers defeating the Kingsmen 82-57.

For the second straight game, Jeremy Sulker-Hall recorded a career-high with 30 points. The senior forward took the Kingsmen on his shoulders, scoring 20 of the first 38 points of the game for the home squad. He added six rebounds and two assists overall. Connor McGuire flirted with a double-double, finishing with nine rebounds and eight points with three steals as well.

The first half got interesting as the break approached. After trailing by 10, CLU chipped away and pulled within a pair in the final minute of the frame, but a late basket by James Griffin gave Chapman a four-point, 38-34, cushion at the intermission.

CU came out of the break just as hot as it left the court and completely controlled the pace of play and momentum on the court over the final 20 minutes.

Coby de Laveaga made the first start of his CLU career tonight and Reagan Chapman made his first SCIAC appearance of the season. Both Robert Ambartsumyan and Sawyer Weddle made his season debut.

Chapman (11-4, 5-2 SCIAC) turned to Cam Haslam for 24 points while Rob Nelson and James Taylor chipped in with 18 and 16, respectively. Taylor grabbed eight rebounds to lead the way for CU and notched three blocks as well.

Cal Lutheran (7-7, 3-4) will host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Wednesday, Jan. 27 for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off against the Stags at the Gilbert Arena.
