REDLANDS, Calif. - The Cal Lutheran women's soccer team took an early lead against Redlands, but eventually fell 2-1 against the Bulldogs in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) matchup on Saturday night at Farquhar Field.
Offensive Highlights: Freshman midfielder Emily Williams scored her first career goal for the Regals, in the 24th minute, to give CLU an early 1-0 lead in the game. Regals leading scorer Raquel Weckhurst tallied five shots, all coming on target, and Bianca Deardorff added five shots with three on goal.
Defensive Highlights: Goalkeeper Coral Hasley notched her sixth straight complete game in goal and recorded four saves to give her a conference-leading 24 on the season.
The Opponent: After Williams gave CLU the lead, Savannah Laursen tied the game for the Bulldogs just four minutes later. Later in the first half, Laursen assisted on a play to Isabella Baez who scored the game winner in the 38th minute.
Next Up: Cal Lutheran (2-4, 1-1 SCIAC) continues SCIAC action on the road at Occidental this Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 7:00 p.m.
