THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The No. 6 Cal Lutheran women's volleyball team rolled past Caltech with a 25-6, 25-8, 25-17 sweep inside Gilbert Arena on Tuesday night.

The win marks the tenth straight for the Regals, who have also won 25 straight sets since Sept. 19.

CLU got off to a quick start in the first set, taking a 7-0 lead behind a trio of kills from Sarah Pappas while Allie Eason and Amanda Roberts each tallied one in the early going.



Eason added four more shortly thereafter to up the Violet and Gold lead to 13-2 and the Regals would run away with set number one.

Caltech took an early 2-1 lead in the second set behind kills from Kate Lewis and Catherine Jamshidi, but the Regals would gather themselves and rattle off eight straight points to take a 9-2 lead. Roberts fueled the rally with four kills and Dani Gonzalez came away with three service aces during the run. With the momentum on their side, the Regals took set number two after a Dianna Rohrer kill made it 25-8.

Caltech would not go down without a fight and the Beavers battled fiercely in the third set. CLU fell behind early, 3-0, but a pair of kills from Hope Stewart and Molly Holloway gave the Regals back the lead. Leading 8-6, Hannah Nua registered back-to-back service aces and CLU went on a bit of a run to gain a 13-7 lead. Caltech continued to hang around but the Regals put the game away 25-17 on a kill by Erin Scuoler.

Pua Mo'Okini-Oliveira led all players in the game with 10 kills and tied Stewartwith a team-high five digs. Holloway and Roberts each tallied six kills apiece while Stewart and Eason contributed five. Gonzalez finished with four service aces along with four digs, Jamie Smith notched 23 kills and Mikayla Dobson added 10.

Caltech (2-15, 0-10 SCIAC) was led by Jamshidi, who totaled four kills and seven digs, and Harinee Maiyuran led the team with 12 assists.

No. 6 Cal Lutheran (19-2, 9-0 SCIAC) will continue conference action with a big road match against No. 21 La Verne (14-3, 8-1 SCIAC) this Friday, Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
