REDLANDS, Calif. - A fourth straight shutout was earned by the Cal Lutheran women's soccer team on Wednesday night during a 3-0 road win over Redlands. Lindsay Armenta scored eight minutes in before a pair of second half scores cemented the victory.

Armenta contributed her third game-winning goal for the Regals this season. In each game the CLU newcomer has scored she has provided the game-winner.
Cal Lutheran enjoyed a slim advantage but was unable to pull away any further in the first half as Redlands net minder Linzey Smith stopped the other three shots on goal.
Counterpart Renee Standage was forced to make two saves in the final five minutes of the first frame to preserve the lead into halftime. A couple of second half opportunities early in the second period for the Bulldogs were stopped by Standage one and the other blocked away by a CLU defender.
The Regals countered with a couple premium scoring opportunities of their own but were turned away by halftime substitution Sabrina Grandke-Bawa.
Eventually Cal Lutheran broke through led by the efforts of Sinead Vaughan. The reigning SCIAC Player of the Year contributed her conference leading ninth assist of the season as Rebekah Casas finished her scoring opportunity in the 64th minute.
Redlands fired off seven of its 17 shots after going down 2-0 but was unable to score for the second time this season against the Cal Lutheran defense. Standage made three of her six saves during that stretch and earned her third solo shutout this season.
Two of her three solo efforts have come against Redlands including an overtime victory back on Sept. 17. Standage improved her record to 8-0-0 following tonight's performance.
Jess Armstrong added a late insurance goal launching a shot from about 40 yards out for her third score this season.
No. 15 Cal Lutheran (13-1-0, 8-0-0 SCIAC) will play back-to-back road matches starting with Mills on Saturday, Oct. 15.
