Johnston (El Cajon, Calif.) and the Kingsmen defense held conference-leading Occidental to a single goal in a 1-1 tie in addition to limiting Caltech to one goal with just five shots on target in a 4-1 victory. Johnston chipped in with a goal of his own as he opened the scoring against the Beavers in the 12th minute.
