Rev. Scott Hamilton Adams currently serves as a Lecturer of Philosophy and the Director of Spiritual Life, Athletics at California Lutheran University. As Lecturer, he researches and facilitates courses engaging in philosophical and theological subject matter that explores a deeper understanding of ethics/moral philosophy, and the exploration of existential and ontological questions of what it means to be human.
As Director of Spiritual Life, Rev. Scott provides spiritual leadership and pastoral care to student athletes, coaches, faculty, staff and other students in the CLU community. His primary focus is to create safe and empowering spaces of belonging for holistic growth, service to neighbor and the cultivation of strong interpersonal relationships towards the realization of Beloved Community. He utilizes a progressive interfaith, multicultural and intergenerational approach to ministry by relying on education as a means to foster an openness to difference and diversity through dialogue and storytelling.
Rev Scott believes that his greatest gift in life and his first ministry is in his role as husband and a father. He and wife Tanya are the proud parents of two sons, Ray and Scotty.
He is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.
