MacEllen McDonough was hired as the Cal Lutheran woman's lacrosse head coach in November 2024.
McDonough is an accomplished lacrosse professional with extensive playing and coaching experience at the highest levels. She was a four year member of the Jacksonville University women’s lacrosse program, where she contributed to three ASUN conference championships.
Internationally, McDonough served as the Women’s Director of the Israel Lacrosse Association and head coach of the U21 national team while representing Team Israel on the world stage as a player and leader. As a four-year captain, she competed in the World Games, World Championships, and European Championships, leading her team to a silver medal at the 2019 European Championships.
As a coach, McDonough has developed athletes across all levels of play, both in the U.S. and internationally. She previously served as an assistant coach at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.
