Faith Wayman Fall 2024

Faith Wayman

Faith Wayman returned to California Lutheran University in January 2026 as the Sports Information Director, overseeing all aspects of athletic communications for the Kingsmen and Regals. In her role, Wayman manages the department’s website, statistics and records, media relations, social media platforms, and live streaming operations across all athletic programs.

A Cal Lutheran graduate, Wayman rejoins the Purple & Gold after serving as Co-Sports Information Director at Eastern Oregon University, an NAIA institution competing in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. At EOU, she led media coverage, communications, and event operations for the department’s 17 programs while serving as the primary communications contact for women's volleyball, cross country and track & field, men’s basketball, women's lacrosse, and baseball.

Wayman earned her master's degree through Cal Lutheran's Sports Management Program, where she served as the department's first-ever Sports Information and Marketing Graduate Assistant during the 2024-25 academic year. In that role, she managed CLU's athletic social media platforms and oversaw communications coverage for cross country and track & field, swim & dive, men's and women's volleyball, softball, and women's lacrosse while working closely with the former Sports Information Director to gain hands-on experience across all areas of athletic communications.

Since returning to Cal Lutheran, Wayman has played a key role in expanding the department’s digital and broadcast capabilities. She helped launch the university’s first live-streaming coverage of tennis while enhancing broadcast production for water polo and several other sports. She also oversees the department’s Sports Information Internship Program, continuing its growth while providing undergraduate students with hands-on experience in athletic communications, media relations, broadcasting, photography, and content creation.

An active member of College Sports Communicators (CSC), Wayman regularly engages in professional development opportunities and represented Cal Lutheran at the 2026 CSC Convention in Las Vegas. She will also serve on the CSC Mentorship Committee for the 2026-27 academic year, helping connect experienced athletic communications professionals with newer members to support career development and build professional networks across divisions.

A former collegiate student-athlete, Wayman was a four-year starter on the softball team at Bushnell University. She was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and earned all-conference honors in 2023 while also being recognized as a two-time CSC Academic All-District and three-time Academic All-Conference selection. Wayman completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Coaching and Athletic Administration in spring 2024. Having experienced the impact athletics can have on a student’s college experience, she is passionate about telling stories that celebrate student-athletes and the communities built around them.

Outside of athletics, Wayman enjoys roadtripping with her golden retriever, Sadie, listening to music, and dominating her brother Jacob in Wii Sports. She resides in Simi Valley, California.
