Caitlin Murphy joined the Cal Lutheran Athletic Communications office as the Sports Information & Operations Intern in August 2026.
Working under the direction of Sports Information Director Faith Wayman, Murphy assists with communications and operations duties, including maintaining statistics and records, website maintenance, live stream production, digital content creation, and supporting special events throughout the year.
Murphy previously served as a Sports Information Intern during the spring of 2026, gaining experience in game-day operations, live statistics, and social media. She graduated magna cum laude from Cal Lutheran in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and a minor in Political Science. During her undergraduate career, she was a four-year Scholar-Athlete, four-time Dean's List selection, Presidential Scholarship recipient, and member of the Business of Sports Club.
A former four-year member of the Regals volleyball program, Murphy appeared in 59 matches during her collegiate career and earned SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors in 2024. She finished her career with 233 kills, 90.0 total blocks, and 287.0 points.
A native of Arcadia, California, Murphy graduated from St. Lucy's Priory High School, where she competed in volleyball and track & field. She earned Baseline League Honorable Mention honors in volleyball, placed sixth in the discus at the CIF Division IV Championships, and received the President's Award for Educational Excellence. She also played club volleyball for Forza 1 West Volleyball Club.
