THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (Mar. 9, 2007) – In the first non-conference contest of the 2007 season the California Lutheran University Regals softball team prevailed over the Menlo College Oaks with a 9-5 victory at Gibello Field.

A come from behind win in the bottom of the seventh inning gave the Regals a 3-2 victory over the University of La Verne Leopards after falling 12-6 in the opener.

Four members of the 13-woman squad were recently named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All America Scholar-Athletes for the 2005-06 season. Among the players with a 3.5 GPA or better were Danielle Everson, Alisha McGhee, Monica Schallert and Katy Wilkins.
Wilkins powered Great Britain to a 2-1 victory over New Zealand on Friday. The British National team enters the final game of the first round with a 3-3 record. The winner of the Great Britain-Italy game will advance to the next round.
Sixteen countries from around the world have gathered in Beijing, China for the International Softball Federation XI Women's Fast Pitch World Championships. Katy Wilkins (left) has represented the Great Britian National Team all summer and will finish up with the World Championships in Beijing before returning to CLU for her senior year.
