The longest SCIAC road trip of the season was worth it for the Cal Lutheran softball team as the Regals routed the Redlands Bulldogs 8-0 and won 6-4 at the Field of Dreams today to complete a four-game season sweep.
Entering the day with identical SCIAC records and fighting for a spot in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament as the season winds down, the softball series between Cal Lutheran and Chapman today was crucial for both programs. On Good Friday, the outcome was a split for the Regals and Panthers, as the teams remain knotted in fifth place with 10 games apiece to play in the regular season. CLU fell 2-1 in game one before earning a 1-0 victory in the nightcap.
Today on Hutton Field, the Cal Lutheran softball team hosted Whittier for the second and final SCIAC series of the spring between the two squads, again splitting the doubleheader with a come-from-behind 5-4 victory in game two after a tough 7-0 game one loss.

Facing another tough Midwest team, the Cal Lutheran softball squad played a pair at Hutton Field against Denison (Ohio) in non-conference action, walking away with a 1-0 win in the early game before a 7-4 come-from-behind victory in the nightcap.
