For the second straight season the Cal Lutheran men's
water polo team landed three selections on the 2009 Collegiate Water Polo
Association (CWPA) All-America team. Brandon Gross earned a Second Team spot
while teammates Matt Heagy and Wes Lewis took down Honorable Mention honors.

Cal Lutheran's Matt Heagy was named to the team all-Western
Water Polo Association (WWPA) team, released earlier this week. The senior
two-meter man led the Kingsmen with 57 goals and 28 drawn exclusions to earn a
spot on the Honorable Mention team.

Athletic Conference (SCIAC) first and second team, respectively.

The Cal Lutheran men's water polo team earned a 14-8
victory over Occidental in its final match of the 2009 SCIAC
Championships this past weekend at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges. CLU
senior Matt Heagy poured in six goals in his final collegiate game to lead the
Kingsmen offense.

After posting a shutout over the opening three quarters
the Cal Lutheran men's water polo team earned a 15-2 victory over Caltech on
day two of the 2009
SCIAC Championship Tournament on Saturday morning. CLU will battle
Occidental on Sunday, November 15 at 10:45 a.m. in the fifth place game.

The Cal Lutheran men's water polo team suffered a 10-8
defeat to host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on day one of the 2009
SCIAC Championship tournament on Friday night. CLU will face Caltech in a
consolation semifinal at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 14 at Axelrood Pool.

The Cal Lutheran men's water polo team earned the No. 4
seed for the upcoming three-day 2009 SCIAC Championships hosted by
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges. The Kingsmen will open its tournament schedule
against the host Stags on Friday, November 13 at 6 p.m.

In the team's regular season finale the No. 7 Cal
Lutheran men's water polo team dropped an 8-5 road decision to No. 3 Pomona-Pitzer
on Saturday morning. The Kingsmen led early before the Sagehens closed out the
final three quarters on an 8-2 run.
