Zach Loza

In a dual-meet victory against Redlands over the weekend, junior Zach Loza broke the CLU 100 breaststroke record un-tapered with a time of 58.20, topping the previous record of 58.39 set by Conrad Sheffer in 2013. Along with taking first place in the 100 breast, Loza broke the two-minute barrier in the 200 IM on his way to another first place finish with a time of 1:57.36. Capping off a strong meet, Loza swam the leadoff leg of the winning 800 Freestyle Relay that finished 20 seconds ahead of second place with a time of 7:13.25.

Blake Lewis


In the season opening series against St. Katherine, senior Blake Lewis went 4-for-6 from the plate with three runs, three RBI’s and a homerun to lead the Regals to a sweep over the Firebirds. Lewis went 1-for-3 in the first game of the day, a come-from-behind 4-3 victory, and her RBI single was part of a four-run rally in the sixth inning. In the second game of the doubleheader, the Valencia, Calif. native went 3-for-3 with three runs and a big two-run homerun in the fifth inning to secure the win.
