Nick Boggan

Baseball

Nick Boggan continued his dominance on the diamond this week, extending his hit-streak to 12. He was 5-for-10 with two homeruns and a double as he hit at a .500 clip for a 1.200 slugging percentage during a 2-1 series win over Chapman. Boggan was walked four times and collected four RBIs while scoring five runs and stealing a base against the Panthers. On Friday he had two hits with two runs. His homerun over the right field fence in the seventh broke a 5-5 tie with the ultimate winning run as CLU went on to win 7-5. Saturday during a 7-3 victory, Boggan was 1-for-2 with a double and two walks as he also drove in a run and scored once. In the series finale he was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run as Panthers pitchers issued him two more free passes. His first inning single drove in the first CLU run of the game and his homerun with two outs in the third sparked a five run inning. The senior first baseman played errorless baseball at first base with 22 putouts and an assist in the first two games before taking over as the DH in the finale. Boggan has connected for five homeruns in his last seven games for CLU.


Amanda Hamilton

Track & Field

Freshman Amanda Hamilton set a pair of CLU school records on Saturday at the SCIAC Quad No. 1 meet hosted by Caltech. Hamilton won the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:04.24, nearly breaking the time set last spring by a full second. She shaved four seconds off her time from the first 400mH race of the season. She went on to place third in the triple jump, behind tow of the national leaders from CMS, with a CLU record leap of 11.21m, breaking that mark by .07m. Additionally, she was part of the 4x400m relay team that broke into the CLU Top-10 list with a clocking of 4:07.94.
