Shonna Christianson

Softball

Shonna Christianson tossed two complete games earning conference wins over Occidental and La Verne this past weekend. Christianson tossed a complete game shutout against the Leopards on Saturday, April 7, to earn Cal Lutheran's first road win of the season.

The day prior she held the Tigers to three runs (two earned) and struck out three to earn her first win in just her second start this season.

In her two starts this past weekend, Christianson held opposing batters to just one extra base hit (a double) while going 2-0 with a 1.00 earned run average.


Chad Kimmelshue

Men's Golf

Chad Kimmelshue shot a final round 71 (E) at the 36-hole Cal Baptist Spring Break Invitational on Tuesday, April 3, to lead the Kingsmen. He finished at 147 (+5) and placed tied for eighth in the final individual standings.

Cal Lutheran finished third in the final team standings placing ahead of several NCAA Division II squads. The Kingsmen tied for the third lowest team round of day shooting 290 (+6) on Tuesday.


Kylee Tomasetti

Women's Water Polo

Goalkeeper Kylee Tomasetti made 13 saves as No. 4 nationally ranked Cal Lutheran took down No. 5 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 10-3 at home on Saturday, April 7. Earlier in the week the Regals earned a 19-4 road win over Caltech and are currently one of two unbeaten teams in league play.

Tomasetti spearheaded a defensive unit that held the Athenas to a season-low three goals. Cal Lutheran has not given up more than four goals in any of its three conference contests and held both CMS and La Verne to season-low scoring totals in its respective matches.

Cal Lutheran's defense currently leads the SCIAC giving up just 3.33 goals per game in three league contests thus far. Tomasetti has made 83 saves in 12 appearances this season.
