Toccoa Kahovec

Women's Track & Field

Successfully defending her 3,000-meter steeplechase title at this year's SCIAC Championships, Kahovec was the only runner out of the 16 to record a sub-11 minute time (10:57.05).

Nearly trimming nine seconds off her title-winning time recorded at last year's championship event, Kahovec ended Friday's action by winning the Regals first individual title of the weekend by more than 18 seconds.

The junior recorded her second NCAA provisional time the following day, running a 4:37.82 to finish second in the 1,500-meter run.

Eric Flores

Men's Track & Field

Flores was named SCIAC Male Track and Field Athlete of the Year for the second straight season.

Competing in the final SCIAC meet of his collegiate career, Flores defended his conference crowns in the hammer throw and shot put taking two of the five individual titles Cal Lutheran earned throughout the weekend.

Recording a new SCIAC meet record of 64.53 meters (211 feet, 8 inches) in the hammer, Flores out-threw CMS' Taylor Berliant by 18 feet to record his first NCAA automatic-qualifying distance of the weekend.

This the second consecutive season that Flores set a new SCIAC meet record, beating last year's distance by .37m (1 foot, 2.50 inches).

Finishing second (47.69 meters/156 feet, 5 inches) only to teammate Adam Hayes, who needed to set a new personal record himself to win the discus, Flores ended his championship weekend atop the final standings in the shot put with his 17.51 meter (57 feet, 5.50 inches) effort.
